Eagle Island XC Course is a championship tested 5K cross country course that is fast and challenging. The course requires competitors to constantly adjust to a variety of surfaces including mowed park grass, sand, packed dirt and cut grass in open hay field. The course also requires competitors to constantly adjust pace with a number of turns and two trips up and down Spectator Hill with its 50m climb and fast 90m descent.

The park has been actively used for cross country meets since 1989. It has been the site of Bob Firman XC, NXR Northwest, Idaho State Championships, WAC Championships, NCAA DII West Region Championships and Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships
The start line accommodates 53 boxes at 1.72m wide. The arced line is split into 4 alleys.
